~~The Vice President for Finance and Administration division is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Director, Finance & Administration Systems.

Established in 1804, OHIO University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio & the first in the Northwest Territory. Located in the scenic Appalachian foothills, its classic residential campus in Athens, Ohio, is one of the most attractive in the nation.

This position is responsible for managing and executing activities of the Financial and Administrative Systems Team. This position is responsible for managing projects related to Oracle Financials (or other ERP solutions) and all associated applications integrations and workflows. This includes analysis, problem resolution, and functional support of the Oracle system and working with end users to proactively identify ways to gain processing efficiencies. The individual serves as the liaison between the Financial Operations Group and IT Services to troubleshoot, resolve problems, enhance the software and support the use of the systems by campus users. The individual must be technically skilled in matters of accounting, finance, HR, payroll, and operations in a University setting as well as have a general working knowledge of the complete Oracle Financials Suite, analytical capabilities, project lifecycle, and an understanding of query tools.

Duties include:

• Management and/or participation in Financial and Administrative Systems Initiatives, ERP upgrades, and other new initiatives. Identify and propose changes to system functionality or operating business processes for the purpose of enhancing customer service, reduction of cost, implementation of industry best practices, or compliance. Management of system testing related to the Oracle Systems, and related integrations which includes upgrades, patching, and other related projects such as virtualization, disaster recovery, and new customizations. Coordination of the development of detailed system test scripts for each process within the modules, and coordination of the testing of the modules to ensure that all changes to the system are thoroughly tested across modules. Creates or reviews documents for proposed system changes to the systems. Coordinates these changes with module managers to ensure the compatibility of the proposed changes. May write reports or make presentations about proposed changes.

• Manages the daily operation of the various modules within the Oracle Systems and coordinates the integration across all Oracle modules, which includes guiding and assisting Managers and Analysts in troubleshooting and resolving problems. This includes analysis of the problem/issue, providing guidance and direction in working SRs (Services Requests), working with the technical development team, testing solutions and coordinating these solutions with other impacted module managers. Serves as a liaison between the Systems Team and other Administrative Departments. This includes working with the groups to troubleshoot common issues and identify solutions that have minimal impact to all Administrative Systems. Effectively and thoroughly analyze the impact of proposed changes to ensure that disruption to operation and system users is minimized.

• Provide functional systems support, guidance, and training for users, including: Working with members and campus to assist them in using the system to the fullest potential. Assist members of the campus community in resolving their questions and issues related to the systems. Direct the development of system documentation by the Systems Managers and Analysts. This includes maintaining current system documentation and creating new requirement materials. Make presentations to groups, such as the Administrative/Academic Leadership to educate users about ERP solutions, products and tools, and helping them to use it more effectively. Must maintain expertise in systems functional operation to provide immediate support and consistent information to system users. Must remain fluent with end-user tools for the purpose of providing solutions to system user requests.

• Assign and direct the activities of the Systems Managers/Leads and Analysts as well as other employees. Assist with the development goals and Performance Management Process.

Job Requirements:

~~• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field

•Significant relevant work experience (at least eight years)

• Minimum of three years Management experience

• Minimum of five years of accounting experience required (in a university or non-profit setting is PREFERRED)

• Project Management experience with software implementations/upgrades. Minimum of five years of Oracle Financials experience with three or more of the other Oracle Financials Modules, including: General Ledger, Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable; grants, HRIS, payroll, labor distribution, comp workbench experience and proficiency with query tools (e.g. SQL Query Builder, OBI). Experience may be coterminous or separate.
