Job Description:

The following is not intended to represent an all-inclusive list of job responsibilities, but to outline the ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the position.

Basic Function:
•Provide appropriate direction to others or directly lead engineering efforts to support a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Develop components, specifications and processes with input from technical experts, physicians, marketing and manufacturing adhering to the design control process. Lead projects in the redesign or replacement of existing components/assemblies and processes to improve quality, utilize automated production techniques, optimize process capabilities, and produce better products in a more cost-effective manner. Interface with suppliers, Strategic Sourcing, R&D, Quality and Regulatory Affairs to deliver projects.

Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute test failure analysis and solution validation to complete successful product development.
•Conduct failure analysis and solution evaluation for production product issues
•Support positive team interactions to accomplish program objectives
•Provide cross-functional program integration support to insure team success
•Leading project teams to timely delivery of products
•Managing interaction with divisional resources
•Applying technical expertise to problem solving throughout product lifecycle
•Continuously fully comply with all regulatory related requirements.
•Provide leadership necessary to review, authorize and document changes to validated systems Research into materials and component technologies to scope development opportunities
•Determine specific processes, development schedules and product/component designs.
•Monitor and control progress of projects to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used and design intent is being followed.
•Ensure the effective use of materials, equipment and subordinate personnel in producing highly quality products at minimal costs.
•Evaluate results of projects and provide manufacturing guidance/assistance as needed.
•Submit periodic reports on areas of responsibility.
•May have personal contact with customers and government agencies.
•Justify capital equipment expenditures.
•Manage expense accounts budget.
•Commit to the EHS policy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Manage and evaluate directly and/or indirectly the activities of exempt and non-exempt employees.
•Set overall group goals and priorities and evaluates subordinate’s performance based on those goals and priorities.
•Supports the team by clarifying roles and responsibilities, removing obstacles and ensuring everyone has the resources they need. The manager builds talent by investing in people, giving feedback and demonstrating and recognizing excellence.
•Coach and develop a multifunctional team.

•8 or more years related engineering experience.
•Experience in new product development and product transfers.
•Experience in project management.
•Experience in medical device industry.

Required Education and Training:
•B.S. in engineering (mechanical, electrical or industrial.)
