Job Description:

Basic Function: Manages team responsible for supporting custom test equipment and equipment controls used in assembly processes after initial launch.

Responsibilities
· Will develop and direct team resources
o New employee recruiting
o Plans, organizes, and implements training plans to optimize team resources and individual development plans
o Develops overall team goals and priorities & evaluates subordinate's performance based on related metrics
o Develops and manages department budgets
o Develops and executes to approved capital plan
· Manages resources to support ongoing availability of test equipment and complex equipment controls to meet production capacity needs
o Ensure team capability and capacity to diagnose and repair custom controls and test equipment problems beyond maintenance teams technical abilities
o Ability to return custom controls and test equipment to the validated state after major repairs
o Ensure team capability and capacity to replicate and qualify custom controls and test equipment to meet increased capacity requirements. (Coordinate with suppliers and/or build internally)
· May assist subcontractors in resolving test and controls related issues
· May assist suppliers in resolving test equipment concerns for Stryker owned test equipment
· Available to train others on manufacturing systems and equipment procedures where beneficial
· Will submit periodic reports on areas of responsibility
· May have personal contact with customers
· Coaches and develops test-controls engineers directly and/or through subordinate supervision
· Responsible for team members complying with company policies and corrective actions





Job Requirements:

• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tool, inspection equipment, and common office equipment
• Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate cross functional problem solving teams
• Demonstrated ability to develop detailed process plans using applicable tools (PFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Safety and Efficacy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to implement qualified processes using applicable systems (Process Validation, PPAP, Process Planning Tools, Design of experiments)
• Demonstrated ability to apply Design for Manufacturability concepts
• Demonstrated ability to plan, track and facilitate projects using tools (Gantt and Pert Charts etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to justify, procure and implement major capital equipment programs
• Demonstrated skill in supervisory/managerial positions
• 5-7+ years of related manufacturing experience preferred
• 1+ years of supervisory experience
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database)
• Familiar with PLC ladder logic, Labview programs, SQL Datase
• Familiar with application of SCADA and/or MES systems
• Familiar with Computer Maintanance Management System (CMMS) utilization
• Experience with new product line extension release requirements
• Statistical techniques including Statistical Process Control methods
• Design for assembly/manufacture

Education/Special Training Required
• B.S. in engineering discipline. (electrical, mechanical, or industrial).
• Preferred Electronics or Equipment Controls training
