OHIO University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of University Custodial Services Manager – Training & Quality Assurance within the Facilities Management department.

The Custodial Services Manager – Training
and Quality Assurance position will provide training to new and current employees, workload of buildings, and provide support when managers are off on long term leaves for Facilities Management & Safety. This position reports to the Director of Facilities Management. Responsibilities and expectations of the position include the following:
• Ensures productivity of staff with broad discretion on evaluating work areas for effectiveness and efficiency. Works with other custodial services managers to effect changes;
• Accountable for evaluating, training, coaching, mentoring and technical expertise of all custodial employees;
• Complies with all laws, University policies and procedures, safety regulations and Collective Bargaining agreement;
• Represent Facility Management’s interests in building and utility infrastructure matters with senior administrators, faculty, union officials, governmental officials, regulators, contractors, architects, engineers, project managers, energy purveyors and others;
• Assist in work loading of campus facilities and development of departmental policies and procedures;
• Assist and cooperate/team with other members of the Facilities Management and the University as needed;
• Effectively manage internal and external communications with other members of Facilities Management, customers, vendors, and technicians;
• Perform other duties as assigned by higher level management and serves as duty officer/technical support on a scheduled basis to handle after hour emergency situations;
• Inspects facilities and takes customer complaints, and assesses other requests for service with goal of providing quality customer service campus-wide;
• Display leadership that results in teamwork, customer focus, innovation, and continuous process improvement within their organization.

Specific Job Duties:
1. Workload buildings-review buildings, calculate SQFT, develop schedules for custodians, and create job assignments.
2. Quality Assurance-provide support to managers for inspections to include development of inspection process, implementation of process, data collection from the process, and compliance to inspection process.
3. Training-provide training support to department for new custodial hires and temp custodial assignments.
4. Fill in for managers as necessary.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree, vocational or technical school degree
•At least 6 years of work related experience
• At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
**An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
• Knowledgeable in use of Microsoft Office suite (or similar), including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. With training, should be able to access and use web and cloud based software for other specialty applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• More than 2 years extensive knowledge and experience in custodial work loading and use of associated software.
