Xilinx's Technical Documentation and Localization team is looking for a Technical Writer with proven excellent technical communication and project management skills.


This is a junior level position.


This candidate will:

  • Be responsible for writing, editing, and the production of technical documentation for Xilinx products.
  • Have the ability to collaboratively and independently work on multiple projects is a must.
  • Have established writing, editorial and organizational skills to ensure that the documentation produced complies with Xilinx corporate standards.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity about how things work, and how they can be improved.
  • Work under pressure with multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Be passionate about information structure, content, and delivery.
  • Have the ability to work successfully with internal customers and foster positive working relationships among internal partners.  


  • 2+ years of technical communication experience in a high-tech field
  • BA in English, journalism, technical communication, or a related technical field; or a university-issued certificate in technical writing
  • BS in Engineering preferred, but not required 
  • Experience establishing schedules and managing multiple project deadlines
  • Experience working directly with SMEs and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to follow and enforce style/writing guidelines
  • Relevant technical background/experience


  • Strong Technical English writing and editorial skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication with global teams
  • Track and clearly communicate project goals, progress, and risks
  • Strong organizational skills: project management and status reporting
  • Recent Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat experience preferred
  • Structured authoring with DITA or other XML-based systems preferred
  • Visio or other graphics programs desired
