Responsibilities

Provide technical support and assistance to several customers across the globe subscribing to a wide range of managed services. Operate in a 7x24 environment managing proactive network events, performing initial diagnostics, and escalating to a higher level technical support groups in order to resolve issues related to managed services. Proactively detect anomalies and performance issues impacting managed services and bring problems to resolution. Perform incident management, problem management, end-to-end trouble isolation and repair on circuit and network incidents. Work with LECs, PTTs, and third-party vendors, as well as Customer Service Centers, Network Management Centers, Operations groups, and customer to facilitate isolation and repair of faults within established baseline objectives. Keep customers updated regularly on efforts aimed at restoration of their services and maintain accurate logs of trouble isolation and repair efforts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Requires a broad range of skills within a professional discipline to effectively perform complex assignments, demands familiary with principles, theories, concepts and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies, and practices. Must be able to thrive in a demanding, fast paced 24x7x365 operations support environment, which requires the ability to work any shift, plus overtime, weekends, or holidays as required. Candidates must also demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional customer service skills. Generally requires a bachelor degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience plus 2-3 years additional industry experience.

Preferred Qualifcations/Skills:

Must have good working knowledge of WAN and LAN concepts, layer 1 through 3. Must have familiarity or related work experience dealing with routing protocols, LAN switches, MPLS VPN, IPSEC VPN, remote access, network security (firewalls, IDS, IPS), IP Telephony, wireless LAN, application acceleration. Ability to balance competing priorities. Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, etc. are preferred.
