Job Description:

Main objective / purpose of the role:

This role exists to provide leadership and strategic direction ensuring Stryker Thailand meets its core KPI’s per overall ASEAN strategy and at the same time being a member of the ASEAN management team. The role has full P&L accountability for Thailand with key focus upon driving growth in both sales and profit in a strictly compliant manner. Recruiting, engaging and developing talent is another key responsibility as we achieve our business plans. The role will also be responsible for driving customer engagement throughout Thailand and building outstanding sales and distribution channels to drive growth.

Critical success factors/key deliverables

Commercial :

  • Ensure the development and execution of detailed sales, marketing & technical service plans Thailand
  • Foresee market changes and prepare Stryker and the respective distribution channels so that they are both prepared timely and appropriately for any change.
  • Develop and implement sales productivity metrics for local sales teams.
  • Identify new business expansion opportunities in Thailand including distributors and agents and develop plans to realize these opportunities
  • Provide continuous updates on market and sales results and trends plus Thailand ’s performance.
  • Represent the company at appropriate Government Industry bodies and serve on local committees to enhance Stryker’s corporate image.
Leadership :
As a member of the ASEAN leadership team, develop effective relationships within the team and be the Thailand representative on this team.
  • Establish clear guidelines on roles, responsibilities and business processes for Thailand .
  • In collaboration with functional leaders create local tactics & execution plans
  • Identify organizational change opportunities & facilitate changes where required.
  • Create a culture of integrity and engagement of employees locally
  • Collaborate, share & leverage Stryker resources and colleagues Internationally
  • Develop a culture of compliance to the corporation’s policies, codes and local laws plus ensuring corporate governance is evident in the business
Customer Relationships:
Establish close relationships with KOLs plus senior management of distributors/agents and manage these relationships proactively:

  • Create specific strategies and agree implementation plans with distributors and agent regarding sales and business opportunities for Stryker’s business
  • Identify co-investment plans with distributors and agents
  • In-conjunction with management conduct Regular Dealer Business Reviews
  • Provide resources and conduct training programs with distributors, agents, OR staff and Stryker employees regarding product offerings to improve levels of expertise

People Development :
  • Recruit, engage and develop employees to enhance the talent bench within Thailand .
  • Ensure performance management processes, staff succession plans and engagement plans are in place and are a strategic opportunity to build a first class Thailand organization.
  • Ensure there is an effective organization structure which delivers opportunities for all employees to fully utilize their skills and talents with the outcome of retaining key people.

Job Requirements:

Academic qualifications / degree & relevant prior experience:
  • Degree in Medical / Business / Engineering / Technology/Sales/ Marketing/Commercial is preferable
  • experience working in a multinational co in medical/pharmaceutical/sales/distribution in expanding commercial roles
  • Thorough knowledge and success of sales/ distribution processes and applied selling/commercial skills
  • Preferably, already well familiar with the orthopedic industry and with the key decision makers
  • Successful outcomes regarding Product launches and change management experience
  • Experience in a high-growth lean organization is also preferable
