Position
The primary responsibility of the Vice President, Human Resources is to oversee management of the company’s most important asset – its people.  The candidate will develop HR policies, programs and practices, and coordinate human resources activities such as recruiting, performance management, career development and succession planning, compensation and benefits, employee relations and training.  In order to be successful in this role, the Vice President, Human Resources must serve as a strategic advisor to the President and Leadership Team.  

This position has responsibility for all aspects of this function including OPW’s US, Europe, China, India and Latin America business units and operations.  The position functions at both an operational and strategic level.  Required competencies include strong business acumen, strategic vision, and inspiring leadership. Successful candidates must possess unshakable honesty and integrity. 

Reporting
The Vice President of Human Resources will report to the President of OPW.


Required Skills

Responsibilities
Major responsibilities include leadership development, and implementation of organization-wide policies and programs encompassing all aspects of human resource management including fair employment practices, labor relations, employee health, welfare, and retirements benefits, compensation, employee training and organizational development, recruitment, diversity, wellness, human resource information systems,  ADA and EEO compliance.  Experience in examining and re-engineering human resources operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new programs is necessary. 

 

Key areas of engagement include:

1.Provide HR advice and counsel to all heads of business units and support functions as well as their direct reports. 
2.Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives. 
3.Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. 
4.Oversee all Human Resource responsibilities including:
   a. Attraction/identification, development and retention of talent
   b. Effective delivery of HR services 
   c. Create a high performance, firm and fair culture throughout all levels of OPW FC globally
   d. Oversee the development of compensation and benefits strategy and programs
   e. Interface with Dover Corporation headquarters on global HR initiatives
   f. Integration of all mergers/acquisitions and divestitures


Required Experience

The successful candidate will possess at least 15 years of generalist HR leadership experience in a global manufacturing environment. Hands-on international experience is critical given the significant global footprint of the business.

• Previous experience assessing leadership development needs with success in establishing appropriate programs to support talent management.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations. Ability to interpret and provide advice on the application of EEO/AA laws. 
• Experience in design, development and implementation of compensation and benefit programs.
